An 'altitude of 1225 meters above sea level, Bormio, called in antiquity the "Magnificent Land" for its natural wealth it s a tourist resort located in Alta Valtellina in the heart of the Alps.

It 's the most important spa center in the region, every season you can relax in the warm waters of the pool and therapy center "Bormio Terme" or in the ancient establishments Bagni Vecchi and Bagni Nuovi.

Outdoor pools, saunas, natural caves, turkish bath, water games, spa treatments, aesthetics, massages and everything you need to regenerate. Bormio Terme is affiliated to balneotherapy with the Italian Health Service.

Winter sports range from skating to snowshoeing, dog sledding snowboarding, but mainly cross­country and alpine skiing.

The ski area of Bormio, which twice has been the scene of the World Championships Ski Bormio, counts 15 lifts on the side Vallecetta and 3 others on San Colombano, over 80 km of slopes suitable for all levels from 1,225 to 3,012 meters and one snowpark.

Skiing can also be practiced from May to November on the glacier of Passo Stelvio.

For summer sports there are good facilities for the practice shooting archery, mountain climbing, Golf (Bormio offers a nine­hole golf course with driving range and putting green), fishing sports, and horse riding.

Qualified mountain guides offer rich programs of activities such as mountaineering, climbing, hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking, canyoning and much more.

Opportunity to make numerous and fascinating hikes to equipped mountain huts, the more daring can take the ascents to the most famous peaks of the Ortles Cevedale chain, including the Königsspitze, San Matteo and the historical journey Thirteen Peaks.

For lovers the opportunity to experience the most famous cycling climbs in the Alps: Stelvio, Gavia, Mortirolo and Foscagno. For bikers of different levels, from the easiest to those extremes, great trails.

For a family outing are flat bike paths in charming surroundings who immerse themselves in the nature of Bormiese which is largely within the boundaries of the Stelvio

National Park, priceless natural heritage, one of the largest protected areas in Europe.

For those who do not love sports Bormio offers walks through the streets of the old town, where the ancient past of the County with religious and civil architecture, libraries and museums, traditions and local cuisine including Pizzoccheri, Sciatt and bresaola.
